Shahid Sarfraz

Shahid Sarfraz, born on New Year’s Day in 2000, emerged from the bustling streets of Karachi, Pakistan, with a dream cradled tenderly within his heart—a dream fuelled by the robust leather of a cricket ball. The son of a schoolteacher, Shahid’s interest in cricket sprouted amidst the clattering chaos of neighbourhood matches, where his natural affinity for bowling quickly became evident. Encouraged by his father, he would spend countless hours honing his craft, attempting to emulate the rhythm and intrigue of his cricketing idols.

Shahid’s journey from these humble origins to his professional debut is nothing short of inspiring. His talents didn't go unnoticed for long, with regional selectors quickly drafting him into the age-group teams. It was his spellbinding performance in an Under-19 national tournament, where Shahid, with his right-arm fast-medium deliveries, bagged a staggering 14 wickets in just 5 matches, that catapulted him into the limelight. This performance secured him a spot in the national team’s developmental camp and, shortly after, his debut on the professional stage.
