Shuvam Dey's journey into the world of cricket began in the bustling streets of Kolkata, where he was born on 15th November 1995. Surrounded by a cricket-crazy environment, it was no surprise that a young Shuvam found himself gravitating towards the sport. His early years were spent honing his skills at the neighbourhood parks, where his natural ability with the bat began to make him stand out. Recognised for his talent, he quickly rose through the ranks, earning a spot in the junior state team by the age of 16.

His professional debut came in 2015 when he was selected for his state team in the Ranji Trophy. A left-handed batsman with an eye for precision and patience, Shuvam soon became known for his classical batting style, reminiscent of the legends he grew up idolising. Able to adapt his game to different formats, he had a knack for pacing his innings perfectly, which laid the foundation for his success.

Throughout his career, Shuvam has copiously filled his trophy cabinet. An instrumental player in leading his team to victory in the 2019 Ranji Trophy final, he scored a stellar 151 in a high-pressure chase, a match still talked about in cricketing circles. Additionally, he set a record for the most runs scored in a single Ranji season, surpassing many seasoned players with his tally of over 1,000 runs.

Shuvam's career has also been defined by exhilarating rivalries, most notably with Arjun Kapoor, an equally promising batsman from a neighbouring state. Their matchups have produced some scintillating cricket, with fans eagerly anticipating every encounter between the two.
