Sobhan Sarkar, born on 23rd October 1984, emerged from the vibrant streets of Kolkata where cricket wasn't just a sport but a way of life. From a tender age, the bustling parks and impromptu matches on dusty pitches honed his innate skills. Sarkar's early years were marked by an inextinguishable passion and a relentless commitment that caught the attention of local coaches. By his teenage years, Sobhan was a standout player, demonstrating an enviable mix of powerful hitting and incisive bowling, and he soon earned a spot in the Bengal Under-19 team.
