Welcome to Alnwick CC
Welcome to Alnwick Cricket Club! Established in 1837, we are not only the oldest cricket club in Northumberland but also the second-oldest provincial club in all of England. We pride ourselves on being a friendly, sociable, and inclusive club, open to players of all ages and abilities.
Our rich history dates back to the founding by the Duke of Northumberland himself, who introduced cricket to the landowners and farmers of the county. The Duke’s passion for the sport led to the establishment of our first ground at Hulne Park, where the club held its early matches.
In 1983, Alnwick Cricket Club relocated to our current home ground at Weavers Way. Over the years, we have diligently developed an excellent wicket and a welcoming clubhouse, serving not only our members but also the wider Alnwick community. We take great pride in providing a warm and supportive environment for cricket enthusiasts to come together and enjoy the sport we all love.
Competing in the Northumberland and Tyneside Cricket League, we field two senior league teams that are always ready for a challenge. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner looking to develop your skills, we have a place for you at Alnwick CC. Our friendly team also welcomes players of all abilities for casual matches and friendly fixtures.
We are proud supporters of women’s cricket at Alnwick CC. Offering opportunities for both hard and soft ball cricket, our women and girls’ teams actively participate in the Northumberland Women’s Cricket League. We believe in promoting gender equality in sport and providing an inclusive space for women and girls to showcase their talents.
If you have any queries or would like to join our cricket club, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us today. We look forward to welcoming you to the Alnwick CC family and sharing our love for the game of cricket.
