Welcome to Elmstead Cricket Club, a friendly and inclusive club situated in the picturesque village of Elmstead Market in Essex. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the sport, we welcome everyone to join our cricket family.

Established in 1889, Elmstead Cricket Club has a rich history and has been playing cricket at our beloved ground, Vicarage Meadow, since its inception. Our facilities are highly regarded, with our ground often chosen as the venue for representative cricket matches, showcasing our dedication to providing quality facilities for our players and visitors.

We cater to cricket enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, with opportunities for players to join our two senior sides. On Saturdays, our 1st XI and 2nd XI compete in the prestigious Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship. The 1st XI will be competing in Division 2 for 2023, while the 2nd XI will be in Division 8, offering players the chance to test their skills against competitive opposition.

Additionally, we have a midweek XI who play on Wednesday evenings, providing a flexible schedule for those with weekday commitments. This allows players to participate in the sport they love without compromising on other responsibilities.

Even if you’re not a player, you can still be a part of our club by becoming a social member. With social membership, you can come down to the club, watch exciting cricket matches unfold, and enjoy refreshing drinks in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
