Our cricket club has a rich history that dates back to 1702 when the Dukes of Richmond began enjoying the sport. In fact, the earliest known written laws of cricket were created for a game between the 2nd Duke of Richmond and Mr. Broderick of Peper Harow in 1727. Cricket has been a passion for subsequent Dukes of Richmond, including the 4th Duke who played at a high standard and even lent money to Mr. Lord, allowing him to purchase the famous cricket ground that now bears his name.

At Goodwood Cricket Club, we pride ourselves on playing a high standard of Sunday cricket against local and wandering teams. In 2017, we formed an alliance with Chichester Priory Park Cricket Club, a partnership that facilitates men's, women's, and junior cricket. The weekends are filled with exciting matches as we field six adult teams, in addition to CPPCC All Stars and junior sides ranging from Under 8 to Under 19 during the week. In recent years, we have made significant investments in our facilities, including a complete renovation of our cricket square in 2018. The maintenance of our ground is a labor of love, as it is undertaken voluntarily by our dedicated club members. We are incredibly grateful to The Duke of Richmond and Gordon for allowing us to play on this beautiful and historic ground.
