Profile
Welcome to Hertfordshire CCC
Welcome to Hertfordshire County Cricket Club, the home of cricket in Hertfordshire. What sets us apart from other counties is that all representative cricketing activities in Hertfordshire are now under one structure, Hertfordshire Cricket Limited. This unified approach allows for a more efficient and organized management of cricket in the county.
Our cricketing history dates back to 1895 when Hertfordshire played their first matches in the Minor Counties Championship. However, the roots of cricket in Hertfordshire go even deeper. In June 2014, we were privileged to be a part of the MCC’s celebrations for the bicentenary of Lord’s Cricket Ground. Hertfordshire was the first team to play against MCC on this hallowed ground 200 years ago, and it was an honor to play them again on the exact anniversary.
Over the years, we have had several notable achievements. We were crowned MCCA Champions in 1936, 1975, 1983, and 1990, showcasing our consistency and excellence on the field. In 1984, we lifted the Knock Out Cup, adding another trophy to our cabinet. Most recently, we claimed the T20 Champions title in 2019, proving our prowess in the shorter format of the game.
Our cricket club not only includes the County Cricket Team but also the Second XI, known as the Stags. The Stags have evolved from the Young Cricketers Under 19 team, providing a platform for talented young players to showcase their skills and develop their game.
For those interested in following our boys’ junior representative teams, you can find the results and fixtures on our website hertscca.play-cricket.com. Similarly, for our women’s and girls’ representative teams, you can visit hertfordshirewomen.play-cricket.com. We believe in nurturing talent and providing opportunities for all, regardless of age or gender.
At Hertfordshire County Cricket Club, we pride ourselves on our rich cricketing heritage, our commitment to excellence, and our dedication to the development of the sport. Whether you’re a player, a fan, or a cricket enthusiast, we welcome you to be a part of our cricketing journey. Join us as we continue to make history and create memorable moments on the cricket field.
