Welcome to Hook and Southborough Cricket Club (H&SCC), a friendly, sociable, and inclusive cricket club with a rich history spanning over 150 years. Established in 1870, H&SCC has been playing cricket continuously every season since its inception, even during the war years when many clubs had their grounds commandeered by the government for war purposes.

For the first three decades, H&SCC's ground was located on the site of the Hook Community Centre, with post-match refreshments enjoyed at the Lucky Rover Public House. In 1906, the club moved to the newly built King Edwards Recreation Ground, making it their home every Saturday and Sunday until 1975. During the 1950s, a purpose-built clubhouse was constructed on the ground, complete with a bar license, providing a welcoming setting for players and spectators. Unfortunately, in 2003, the clubhouse fell victim to an arson attack, leading to the club temporarily relocating while they sought a new permanent home.

After several years of playing at various locations, H&SCC established a partnership with Hollyfield School on Somerset Avenue in Hook in 2011, allowing them to return to their roots. In 2012, a temporary clubhouse was added, ensuring the club had a designated space to gather and socialize.

Currently, H&SCC proudly boasts two Saturday teams competing in the Surrey County League, showcasing their commitment to competitive cricket. Additionally, the club maintains a Sunday friendly side, which enjoys a full fixture list. The club's emphasis on inclusivity means everyone, regardless of skill level or experience, is welcome to join and participate.
