Welcome to Hopton Mills CC, the friendly, inclusive, and sociable cricket club nestled in the stunning Hopton Estate in Mirfield, often hailed as the most picturesque cricket club in all of Yorkshire!

Our club has a rich history, originating in 1896 as the ‘works team’ for the nearby Hopton Mills. Back then, the cricket club served as a recreational haven for the hardworking employees, who paid a mere shilling a year as a peppercorn rent to the company. This strong connection to the local community has been a cornerstone of our ethos ever since.

Situated in Lower Hopton, within the unparalleled beauty of Hopton Estate and on the edge of the magnificent Hagg Wood, our location can truly be described as a slice of heaven. The serene surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for our players to hone their skills and enjoy the game they love. In fact, we have invested significantly in upgrading our facilities to offer our cricketers the best possible environment for achieving excellence.

One of our main focuses is nurturing the next generation of cricket stars. Young players are the future of the game, and we pride ourselves on our commitment to their development. We actively seek out talented junior cricketers who share our passion, enjoyment, and dedication to the sport. Following a recent merger with the Central Yorkshire Cricket League, we are now proud members of the prestigious Bradford League. The merger marked an exciting new chapter for our club, as we continue to establish ourselves and showcase our skills in this renowned league.
