Hythe Cricket Club

Welcome to Hythe Cricket Club (Hythe CC), a friendly and inclusive club that is always looking for new players to join our ranks. Whether you are new to the area, want to rediscover your love for cricket, or are simply looking to move clubs, we invite you to get in touch and become a part of our community.

Since its establishment in 1856, Hythe CC has called The Grove its home. Over the years, we have grown to accommodate five adult teams and six junior teams, including three all-girls teams. Our teams compete in various Kent leagues and we are proud to be a Clubmark accredited Club, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Our Saturday 1st XI team competes in Tier 3 of the newly restructured Kent Cricket League, while our Sunday team competes in Division Four East of the Kent Village League. In fact, our Sunday team was crowned champions in 2023! In addition to these teams, we have recently revived our Saturday 2nd XI, which serves as a development team playing friendly fixtures. Our junior teams participate in the Saxon Shore League based on relevant age groups.

Aside from league competitions, we also engage in friendly matches throughout the season. Our club also boasts a Social Monday evening T20 team, as well as another midweek T20 team. Moreover, Hythe CC takes pride in being the founders of the "Hythe Smash," a brand-new T20 midweek league for invitational clubs along the Kent coast. We were runners-up on Finals Day in our inaugural season in 2023.

At Hythe CC, we prioritize player development, and our team of ECB qualified coaches conduct training sessions throughout the summer. Senior pre-season training begins on April 2nd at 10am, while weekly net practice and training commence on May 3rd, 2023, at 5.30pm. For our junior players, training takes place on Sunday mornings at 10am from May to September, also at The Grove.
