Welcome to Old Northamptonians CC
Welcome to Old Northamptonians CC! As one of the largest and most successful cricket clubs in Northamptonshire, we pride ourselves on being friendly, sociable, and inclusive. If you’re interested in joining our club or if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us today.
Established in 1922 by former students of the Northampton School for Boys, the Old Northamptonians Cricket Club has a rich history spanning over a century. After their return from the First World War, these cricket enthusiasts came together to form a club that would become a home for countless players and a hotbed for talent. Over the years, our senior and junior teams have achieved great success, winning numerous league titles. In fact, several professional and international cricketers began their cricketing journey right here at our club.
We are conveniently located on the Billing Road in central Northampton. Most of our games are held at the Old Northamptonians Sports Ground, which boasts two cricket squares, artificial nets, and a spacious clubhouse with a bar. Additionally, we also play some matches across the road at the Northampton School for Boys. Please keep in mind that with the exception of assistance dogs, dogs are not allowed on our grounds or in our clubhouse.
Presently, we have five senior teams competing in the Northamptonshire Cricket League. Our 1st XI proudly competes in the Premier Division and secured the league title in 2017. In addition to our senior teams, we have junior teams for ages U10s, U11s, U12s, U13s, and U15s, participating in the Northampton & District League. Our U15s and U17s compete in the Higham and District League, while our U19s take part in the Countywide competition. Furthermore, during the summer, our successful Friday night minis provide children aged 5 and up with the opportunity to try out softball cricket for the first time.
If you have any questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Contact details for members of our committee can be found on the About Us page of our website under officials. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to Old Northamptonians CC, where cricket is more than just a sport—it’s a way of life.
