Welcome to Old Vigornians Cricket Club (OVCC), a club with a rich history and a deep connection with The King’s School in Worcester. Our club is privileged to have access to the beautiful playing facilities at the New Road ground in the city center, as well as the idyllic setting of King’s Hawford. And in 2023, we are excited to add another historic venue to our repertoire – the famous Cinderella Ground.

OVCC was established in 1947, primarily as a club for former students of The King’s School. However, our roots can be traced back even further to 1884, when an annual cricket fixture between the school and the club was already in place. As we approach our momentous 75th Anniversary in 2023, we continue to cherish this longstanding bond with the school and its cricketing heritage.

Our 1st XI competes in Division 3 of the Worcestershire County League, showcasing the talent and dedication of our senior players. Meanwhile, our 2nd XI takes on Division 6, both teams striving for success in their respective divisions. In addition to these league teams, we also have a Sunday XI and a Midweek XI, providing ample opportunities for our members to play the sport they love.

At OVCC, we also place great emphasis on nurturing young talent and inspiring the next generation of cricket enthusiasts. In 2021, we launched our junior section, catering to children aged 5 and above. We have created an inclusive and encouraging program that aims to foster a love for the game. Furthermore, we are proud to run a thriving ECB All Stars program during the summer, specifically designed for children aged 5 to 7. Looking ahead to 2023, we are excited to expand our junior teams, offering opportunities for U10s, U12s, and U14s to showcase their skills and be part of our cricketing family.
