Welcome to Parkhead Cricket Club! Whether you’re an experienced player, a budding coach, a passionate umpire, or a generous sponsor, we welcome you with open arms to join our thriving club. At Parkhead, we take great pride in our exceptional grounds, which are widely regarded as some of the best in South Yorkshire. The first XI achieved remarkable success in the Yorkshire and Derbyshire League (YDCL), clinching the title an impressive 14 times. However, in 2020, they decided to move on and joined the competitive South Yorkshire Premier League (SYPL). Their meteoric rise continued, swiftly securing promotions from Division 4 in 2021 and Division 3 in 2022. In 2023, under the leadership of captain Chris Turner, the first XI will show their mettle in Division 2.

Meanwhile, our second XI remains in the YDCL after a successful campaign in Division 2, where they took the championship crown in 2021. They made their mark in Division 1 in 2022, finishing a respectable 7th under the captaincy of Thomas Jackson. However, this will be their final season in the YDCL, as they have been accepted into the SYPL for the 2024 season.

Our club expanded its horizons in 2022 with the introduction of a midweek side, competing in the South Yorkshire Midweek Alliance League. Led by captain Hashim Mahroof, this team provides even more opportunities for our members to enjoy the sport.

We are thrilled to announce the establishment of our first-ever women’s team, the Parkhead Panthers. Training on Friday evenings, they wasted no time in making a mark on the cricketing scene. The Panthers triumphed in their debut winter softball league, being crowned the SYW&GCL Softball Group D Winners in 2023. They are now set to take on the South Yorkshire Softball League with two teams. With outdoor fixtures played on Sundays, we eagerly welcome new members to join our dynamic women’s teams.

In 2022, Parkhead Cricket Club achieved a significant milestone by gaining ECB ClubMark status. This prestigious recognition speaks volumes about our commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and high-quality cricketing environment for our members.
