Welcome to Ponthir Cricket Club! We are a friendly and inclusive cricket club located in the village of Ponthir. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the sport, we have something for everyone.

Our senior teams consist of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd XI sides who compete in the SEWCL league. Alongside our league fixtures, we also have a Sunday Friendly XI for those who enjoy a more social form of cricket. Additionally, we have an Over 50s Veterans XI and participate in the Newport & District Midweek League.

At Ponthir Cricket Club, we understand the importance of nurturing young talent. That’s why we offer opportunities for players of all ages through our junior section. From the highly successful All Stars initiative for 5-8 year olds to our Under 15s XI, we provide a supportive environment for our junior players to develop their skills and love for the game.

Excitingly, this year we are introducing Women and Girls sections. We believe in providing equal opportunities for everyone who wants to play or try out cricket. We extend a warm welcome to all who wish to be a part of our growing cricket community.
