Welcome to Rolleston Cricket Club, fondly referred to as #teamgreen💚 With a rich and storied history dating back to 1871, our club has been a pillar of the local community for over a century.

Through meticulous research conducted using parish records and the Burton Chronicle, we have discovered that cricket in Rolleston traces its origins to a friendly match played against Stretton in 1871. This sparked the formation of Rolleston Cricket Club, which quickly gained traction and began participating in regular matches. Notably, one of our earliest rivalries was forged with Dunstall, as we played them home and away during the 1878 season.

At Rolleston CC, our primary objective is to foster a love for cricket and provide social entertainment for our members. We are currently represented by four senior teams competing in the prestigious Derbyshire County League. These teams engage in thrilling fixtures, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship on the field. Additionally, our Sundays are reserved for both senior cup games and friendly matches, further enhancing the camaraderie within our club. For those who prefer a more relaxed approach to the game, we organize social cricket matches under the banner of the Rolleston Willowers XI.

Furthermore, we believe in nurturing the cricketing talent of younger generations. Thus, we have established youth teams across various age groups, including under 11, 13, 15, and 17. These promising young cricketers participate in league and cup games, where they have the opportunity to develop their skills and experience the thrill of competition. For the budding cricket enthusiasts who are just starting their journey, we offer Kwik Cricket, a modified version that emphasizes fun and the fundamentals of the sport.
