Welcome to Sessay CC

Welcome to Sessay Cricket Club, a village cricket club located in North Yorkshire. With a rich history and numerous achievements, we are a club that prides ourselves on being at the heart of the local community.

One of our biggest accomplishments was winning the National Village Knockout in 2010 and 2016, with runners-up positions in 1976 and 2017. The club first gained national recognition in 1976 when we reached the final of the National Village Knockout competition, narrowly losing to Troon. However, in 2010, we finally became National Village Champions when we recorded a seven-wicket victory over Shipton under Wychwood CC. We had the opportunity to bring the silverware home once again in 2016 before facing defeat against Reed CC in the 2017 National Final.

At Sessay CC, we offer a range of teams and opportunities for players of all ages and genders. We have senior men’s and women’s teams for weekend matches, as well as a Midweek T20 team. Additionally, our junior section is one of the largest in the area, with boys and girls teams at various age groups including U9s, U11s, U13s, U15s, and U17s.

We are proud to be an ECB AllStars and ECB Dynamos Centre, providing excellent coaching and development opportunities for young players. With over 120 members in our junior section alone, we are dedicated to nurturing and supporting the next generation of cricketers.

Sessay CC is also a satellite club for Women and Girls cricket in North Yorkshire, highlighting our commitment to promoting inclusivity and gender equality within the sport. We are thrilled to have our Emeralds Girls U19 team crowned ECB National Champions in 2022, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players and coaches.

Beyond cricket, we also offer a vibrant social calendar for our members. Throughout the close season, there are regular get-togethers and events for everyone to enjoy. We even have our very own football team, Sessay CC FC, and a darts team representing the club in local leagues.
