Welcome to Staveley Welfare CC, a cricket club steeped in history and tradition. Established in 1926, we were originally members of the North Derbyshire Cricket League before joining the Bassetlaw & District. In 1999, we made our move to the prestigious Derbyshire County Cricket League (DCCL), cementing our place among the finest clubs in the region.

At Staveley Welfare CC, we pride ourselves on being a family-friendly club with a strong focus on developing players from the local community. Over the years, many of our talented players have gone on to have successful careers in the professional game, with Chris Adams being a prime example. Adams enjoyed a stellar career with Derbyshire, Sussex, and the English national team.

We currently field both a 1st XI and a 2nd XI Senior Team, competing in the Derbyshire County League Divisions 6 North and 9 North respectively. Our matches are played over 40 overs per side on Saturdays, providing an exciting and competitive platform for our players to showcase their skills. Additionally, we also have a Sunday XI that competes in the Mansfield & District League Divisions 3 North.

For the young cricket enthusiasts in our community, our Junior Teams participate in the North Derbyshire Youth League. We offer opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels, beginning with Kwik Softball for our youngest members and progressing up to U15 Hardball for the more experienced players.
