Welcome to Takeley CC
Welcome to Takeley CC, a friendly and inclusive cricket club located in the picturesque village of Takeley in Essex. With a rich history dating back to 1880, our club has been a cornerstone of the local community for over a century.
As a village cricket team, we are proud to maintain two Saturday teams that compete in the highly regarded Tees Herts and Essex Border League. Our 1st XI team has continuously shown great skill and dedication, earning them a spot in the Premier Division for the upcoming 2023 season. Meanwhile, our 2nd XI team will be competing in Division 2, showcasing the depth of talent within our club.
In addition to our Saturday league matches, we also take part in two thrilling T20 mid-week competitions, namely the League Cup and Davies Cup. These fast-paced and action-packed games provide our players with an exciting opportunity to showcase their skills and compete against other clubs in the region. Furthermore, our cricket club organizes friendly fixtures on Sundays, allowing players to enjoy the sport in a more relaxed setting.
At Takeley CC, we are particularly proud of our strong junior section. Every Thursday evening, our enthusiastic and qualified cricket coaches gather to nurture the young talent within our village. With a focus on skill development and fostering a love for the game, we provide a safe and supportive environment for children of all ages and abilities to learn and grow.
Whether you’re an experienced cricketer or completely new to the sport, we welcome players of all abilities to join our club. Our friendly and sociable atmosphere ensures that everyone feels included and valued, while our experienced coaches are always on hand to provide guidance and support.
So, if you’re looking for a cricket club that combines the thrill of competitive matches with a welcoming and inclusive environment, look no further than Takeley CC. Contact us today, and begin your cricketing journey with us!
