Bruce Yardley was an Australian cricketer known for his spin bowling skills.
Born on September 5, 1947, Yardley played for Western Australia and also represented the Australian national team.
He made his Test debut in 1978 and went on to play 33 Test matches, taking 126 wickets at an average of 31.63.
Yardley was also a handy lower-order batsman, scoring over 800 runs in Test cricket.
He was a key player in Australia's successful Ashes campaign in 1978-79, where he took 6/164 in the famous Headingley Test.
Yardley passed away in 2019, leaving behind a legacy as one of Australia's finest spin bowlers.
