Born on 6th April 1996, Emmanuel Hasahya's journey in cricket began in the dusty neighbourhood of Kampala, where local matches at the age of ten ignited his passion for the game. Armed with a hand-me-down bat, Emmanuel displayed an innate flair for shot-making, which soon caught the attention of regional coaches. By his teenage years, he was a regular face in Uganda's budding cricket community, securing his selection to represent the national Under-19 team at just sixteen.

Emmanuel's transition to professional cricket was marked by his debut in the 2015 ICC World Cricket League Division Three. His entry was anything but quiet; a gutsy innings of 83 runs against Malaysia laid the groundwork for Uganda’s eventual promotion to Division Two. His right-handed bat work soon became the hallmark of Uganda’s batting line-up, characterised by fluent drives and a penchant for dispatching spinners over the ropes with calculated ease.
