Jasveer Rathore

Jasveer Rathore, born on 29th March 1989 in the heartland of India's cricketing fervour, Rajasthan, emerged as a beacon of talent from an early age. Growing up playing in the dusty lanes of Jaipur, Rathore's initial foray into cricket was marked more by zeal than refined technique. But what he lacked in polish, he made up for with raw determination and a natural aptitude for all facets of the game. A right-hand bat and right-arm fast-medium pace bowler, Rathore carved his niche as a quintessential all-rounder who brought balance and dynamism to any team he graced.

Rathore's journey from local tournaments to the professional circuit was a testament to his tenacity. At 18, his potential was spotted by regional selectors, leading to a debut in India’s domestic circuit with Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy. He quickly rose to prominence, delivering impactful performances that did justice to his all-round label — aggressive batting lower down the order complemented by incisive spells with the ball. By 22, Rathore had become a fixture in Rajasthan’s first XI, making significant contributions to the team’s surprise Ranji Trophy victories in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

His international debut in early 2014 came in an ODI match against Sri Lanka, a game that saw him making vital contributions both with his bat and ball, underlining Rathore’s ability to handle high-pressure situations with finesse. His crowning moment, however, arguably came during a much-publicised India-Pakistan encounter in the Asia Cup 2016. Jasveer’s heroic unbeaten 65 with quick-fire boundaries changed the game’s momentum, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, and his explosive last over taking two crucial wickets sealed his reputation as a match-winner.
