Mandeep Lakha

Mandeep Lakha, born on 13th December 1988 in the bustling city of Mumbai, is a testament to grit and passion in the world of cricket. From a young age, the cacophony of the neighbourhood resonated with the sound of tennis balls striking narrow bats, the first echoes of Mandeep’s burgeoning talent. At just ten years old, he joined the local cricket club, his talent quickly shining through amidst a sea of peers.

Mandeep's journey from dusty school grounds to international pitches wasn’t without its hurdles. However, his unwavering dedication and a series of impressive performances at the domestic level culminated in his professional debut for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy in 2009. The young right-hand batsman quickly captured the attention of cricketing pundits with his crisp, no-nonsense style of play.

One of Mandeep's crowning achievements came during the 2012 Ranji season when he racked up a remarkable 920 runs, steering Mumbai to victory with a dogged century in the final. This feat not only highlighted his immense talent but also his ability to deliver under pressure, a trait that soon became synonymous with his name.

International recognition followed, and Mandeep donned the Indian jersey in an ODI debut against South Africa in 2014. He became known for his fierce rivalry with their then-pace spearhead, Rabada.
