Born on 15th March 2000 in the bustling town of Port Elizabeth, Monde Maqunqu’s story is one of passion, persistence, and remarkable skill on the cricket field. From the dusty cricket grounds where he honed his craft as a young boy, flinging tennis balls with unerring accuracy, Maqunqu's journey to the professional elite has been nothing short of inspiring.

Mondé’s love for cricket was evident from an early age. At 16, Monde got his first real shot at limelight when he was selected for the Eastern Province U19 squad. By 2019, Maqunqu had made his first professional debut for South Africa A. The following year, he was a pivotal figure in Eastern Province's domestic championship triumph, where he mesmerised audiences with his knack for extracting sharp turn even on the flattest tracks.
