Naveen Balaji

Naveen Balaji, born on 15th May 1990, emerged from the cricket-loving bylanes of Chennai, where the cacophony of bat striking ball echoed through his formative years. From the age of seven, a young Naveen was often found practising his wicketkeeping in the neighbourhood grounds, his agile reflexes already hinting at a promising future. His father, an avid cricket enthusiast, introduced him to local coaching sessions, igniting a journey that would soon transcend the boundaries of amateur play.

As Naveen matured into his teenage years, his skill behind the stumps, coupled with his sharp right-hand batting, began drawing attention in state-level competitions. It wasn’t long before a stellar performance in the U-19 national championships caught the eye of a scout, leading to his professional debut for Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy at the young age of 20. From there, his career trajectory was nothing short of meteoric.

Naveen quickly established himself not just as a reliable wicketkeeper, but also as a formidable right-handed batsman.
