Onkar Singh’s journey into the world of cricket started in the dusty lanes of Jalandhar, where a young boy with an immense passion for the game spent countless hours emulating his heroes. Born on 23rd October 1999, Onkar’s precocious talent was evident from an early age. His ability to swing the ball with his right-arm-fast-medium pace set him apart from his peers. Encouraged by his family, he joined a local cricket club, where his natural flair for bowling quickly caught the attention of coaches.

His breakthrough arrived when he made his debut at the age of 18 for Punjab in the prestigious Ranji Trophy. Onkar’s performance was nothing short of spectacular—his searing pace and ability to generate bounce troubled even the most seasoned batsmen. This performance paved the way for his entry into the national spotlight, and soon, he donned the national colours, representing India at the Under-19 World Cup. His spell against arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-final, where he took 4 wickets for just 22 runs, remains one of his most talked-about performances.

In 2020, Onkar made his professional debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the Delhi Capitals. His partnership with senior bowlers brought a fresh dynamism to the team's attack. A landmark achievement came in the 2021 season when Onkar delivered a match-winning performance against the Chennai Super Kings, taking five wickets in a single spell, an effort that cemented his reputation as a potential future star of Indian cricket.
