Born on 1st January 2000, Rajith Perera’s cricketing journey began on the dusty pitches of Colombo, where his impeccable talent with the ball soon marked him out as a promising young star. With an innate passion for the game, his parents often recount how he would spend endless afternoons perfecting his wrist position and seam release, imitating his cricketing heroes on makeshift pitches.

Rajith’s formal cricket education took off at a local club known for nurturing young talent. His remarkable ability to swing the ball both ways caught the selectors' attention, propelling him into the Sri Lankan U-19 squad.
