Ravi Isvar, born on October 22, 1986, in the vibrant city of Chennai, India, has carved a niche for himself as an exceptional wicketkeeper in the world of cricket. His journey began in the narrow lanes of his neighbourhood, where he played street cricket with friends, using whatever equipment they could scrape together. It was clear even to the young Ravi that cricket was the passion that would drive him forward.

His coaches, recognising his potential, honed his skills both as a wicketkeeper and a batsman. Debuting professionally at the age of 20 for Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy, Ravi's journey to the national team was not an overnight success. One of the most memorable matches of Ravi's career came in a One-Day contest against their arch-rivals Mumbai. His lightning-fast stumping of a well-set batsman and a swashbuckling knock of 78 from 55 balls turned the tide in Tamil Nadu’s favour, earning him a long-standing rivalry with Mumbai's flamboyant keeper, Arjun Desai.
