Ryan Lees

Ryan Lees was born on 16th February 1994, in the leafy suburbs of Nottinghamshire, where his love for cricket blossomed on the sun-dappled fields of his hometown. From the moment he first grasped a cricket ball, whispers of his prodigious talent began to echo around local club matches. With an intense passion and an unquenchable thirst for the game, Ryan’s cricketing journey was set in motion.

Growing up, Ryan idolised fast bowlers who could deliver a fiery pace, and it wasn't long before he developed his own formidable right-arm-fast style. His bowling not only echoed the aggression of his heroes but brought an unparalleled precision, turning him into his club's spearhead by the tender age of 16. Having perfected the art of late swing and seaming deliveries, Ryan caught the attention of county selectors and soon debuted for Nottinghamshire in the County Championship in 2014.

His professional debut was nothing short of a spectacle, claiming a fiver-fer against rivals Yorkshire, setting the stage for what would be an enthralling career. The force behind Nottinghamshire's successes in the mid-2010s, Ryan Lees played pivotal roles in clinching the County Championship in 2015 and the T20 Blast in 2017. Among his many achievements, Ryan's record-breaking spell of 8 for 37 against Hampshire in 2018, which decimated an otherwise formidable batting line-up, is spoken of in county circles with reverence.
