Sankat Mochan Tripathi

Sankat Mochan Tripathi was born on 10th May 1998, in the small town of Kanpur, where cricket enthusiasm blossoms naturally alongside the sprawling Ganga. Ever since he could hold a bat, Tripathi was charmed by the allure of the game, mimicking the flair of his heroes on the dusty alleys of his neighbourhood. But it wasn't with the bat that he would make his mark; instead, it was with the ball, whizzing past the bewildered batsman's guard, that Tripathi found his true calling.

By the time he reached his teenage years, his prodigious talent as a fast bowler was unmistakable. A right-arm speedster, Tripathi's early forays in the local league saw him regularly scalping wickets with a deadly combination of pace and precision. It wasn't long before the scouts from the state team took notice, and Sankat made his professional debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy, marking the beginning of what would become an illustrious journey.

Tripathi's emergence onto the scene was nothing short of meteoric. Within his first season, he claimed a record-breaking 35 wickets, becoming the highest wicket-taker for a debut season in the history of the competition at just 19.
