Saqib Mahmood, an emerging talent in the world of cricket, has made a remarkable impact on the international stage.
Known for his powerful physique and impressive pace, Mahmood possesses the potential to become one of England's top fast bowlers.
Born in Birmingham and raised in Rochdale, Mahmood's journey to success has been both challenging and inspiring.

From a young age, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) recognized Mahmood's talent and closely monitored his progress.
His exceptional performances for Lancashire during the 2019 season earned him a call-up to the England squad.
Standing out with his ability to swing and seam the new ball, Mahmood's true excellence shines when he effortlessly reverses the ball later in the innings.
His bowling speed, reaching up to 90mph/145kph, further adds to his arsenal of skills.

Mahmood's international breakthrough came during England's ODI series against Pakistan in 2021.
Due to several Covid-19 cases within the initial squad, England had to assemble a new team, and Mahmood was handed the responsibility of opening the bowling in the first ODI in Cardiff.
Displaying nerves of steel, he dismissed both Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam within the span of three balls, finishing the match with impressive figures of 4 for 42.
His extraordinary performance earned him the accolade of Player of the Series, contributing to England's dominant 3-0 victory.

This memorable series showcased Mahmood's immense potential and cemented his place as a key player in England's lineup.
However, his journey to international recognition began years earlier.
At the age of 17, he represented England at the Under-19 level, and his standout performances led him to become a regular for the squad.
Mahmood's exceptional bowling skills were on full display during the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2016, where he emerged as one of the tournament's leading wicket-takers.

Although opportunities with Lancashire were occasionally limited, Mahmood's commitment to honing his craft never wavered.
He participated in a fast-bowling camp in Potchefstroom to prepare for the 2017 summer, and he was subsequently named in the England Lions squad as a shadow player for the Ashes party in Australia.
Unfortunately, a side strain kept him out of action for most of the 2018 season.
However, he returned to Lions duty the following winter, displaying his resilience and determination.

Mahmood's outstanding performances throughout all formats of the game granted him a call-up to England's Test and T20I squads for the New Zealand tour in 2019-20.
Additionally, he earned a pace-bowling development contract with the ECB, which provided him access to the organization's strength and conditioning staff and nutritionists.
Although Mahmood faced some challenges during this period, he managed to learn and develop under the guidance of former English fast bowler Darren Gough.

Despite a slip in form during the 2020 season, Mahmood used the Pakistan Super League in 2021 as a platform to prove his worth.
He emerged as the leading wicket-taker before the tournament was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Throughout the summer, Mahmood continued to impress for Lancashire, delivering a sensational performance in the Championship with a maiden first-class five-for in a significant victory against Yorkshire.

With his remarkable talent, Mahmood remains on the fringes of England's squads across all formats, eagerly awaiting his next opportunity to shine.
With a solid foundation, a powerful physique, and exceptional bowling skills, he has the potential to become a crucial figure in England's future cricketing endeavors.
As Mahmood's career progresses, cricket enthusiasts can only anticipate witnessing his journey to greatness unfold on the international stage.
