Seren Waters

Born on 11th April 1990 in the cricket-conservative heart of Kenya, Seren Waters emerged as one of the sport’s visionary talents. His journey into cricket began amidst the vibrant landscapes of Nairobi, where he practiced tirelessly in local nets, driven by a passion that belied his youth. Recognised early for his scintillating batting prowess, Seren naturally gravitated towards the role of a batsman, wielding the willow with a right-handed flourish that would soon captivate audiences far beyond his home turf.

His prowess didn't go unnoticed. Seren made his professional debut for Kenya at a time when the national team sought to establish its presence on the global stage. Right from his initial appearances, Seren’s ability to anchor innings while also accelerating when required set him apart. The 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifiers marked his breakthrough, where his consistent performances played a pivotal role in solidifying Kenya's position among the associate nations in cricket.

A highlight of his career came during a tense match against Scotland, where Seren's elegant cover drives and sturdy technique under pressure steered Kenya to a memorable victory. His forthright approach against bowlers, combined with an uncanny ability to strategise each innings, often saw him compared to some of the best anchoring batsmen of his generation.

While Seren was primarily known as a batsman, his bowling contributions were not to be underestimated.
