From his early days, cricket was less of a pastime and more of a calling for young Sharafuddeen. Sharafuddeen's professional debut came in 2019 when he donned the jersey of the Kerala state team in India's esteemed domestic tournaments. A breakthrough moment was his crucial role in Kerala’s surprise run to the semi-finals in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where his aggressive knocks and pivotal bowling spells became the talk of the circuit.
