Sheldon Philip Jackson, commonly known as Sheldon Jackson, is a professional cricket player from India.
Born and raised in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, Jackson first developed his love for the game in his hometown.
However, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his cricket career and played junior cricket in the city.

In 2009, Jackson's talent caught the eye of Joydeep Mukherjee, a former player from Bengal, during the selection trials for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Impressed with his skills, he was signed by the franchise.
Although he spent most of his initial years on the fringes of selection for his state team Saurashtra, he made his debut in December 2011, marking the beginning of his professional cricket journey.

It was during the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy season that Jackson truly made his presence felt.
He contributed significantly to Saurashtra's success, scoring four fifties and three hundreds throughout the tournament.
His stellar performances, including back-to-back centuries in the quarter-final and semi-final against Karnataka and Punjab respectively, helped Saurashtra reach the final for the first time.
This remarkable achievement highlighted Jackson's potential and earned him recognition in the cricketing world.

Jackson's hard work and dedication paid off in 2013 when he was selected to represent India A in a series against West Indies A at home.
This marked his transition to the national stage and reinforced his determination to excel in the sport.

Furthermore, in the 2015-16 season, Jackson played a vital role in Saurashtra's pursuit of the Ranji Trophy title.
Following their success in the tournament, Jackson's unbeaten 59 in the Irani Cup facilitated Rest of India's impressive chase, which became the third-highest successful chase in Indian first-class cricket.

One of Jackson's greatest assets is his versatility.
Not only is he a reliable batsman, but he is also an excellent fielder, showcasing his talent and commitment to the game.
In the limited-overs competitions, Jackson dons the wicketkeeping gloves for Saurashtra, displaying his multiple skills on the field.
However, in the longer format, the presence of Sagar Jogiyani has relieved him of the wicketkeeping responsibilities.

In addition to his professional cricket commitments, Jackson remains an active participant in Chennai's club cricket scene.
During the off-season, he regularly plays for Chemplast in the first-division league, further honing his skills and contributing to the local cricket community.

With a promising career ahead of him, Jackson continues to strive for excellence in the sport he loves.
Supported by his immense talent and dedication, he aims to make significant contributions not only to his team but also to Indian cricket as a whole.
