Sujan Fernando, born on the first day of the new millennium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, grew up with the bustling cricketing culture that enveloped his very being. The youngest of three siblings, Sujan was introduced to cricket at a tender age by his father, who would take him to watch local matches on weekends. His passion for the sport blossomed in the dusty lanes of Colombo, where he often played with makeshift wickets and a fervour that belied his age. Here, his flair for wicketkeeping started taking shape, honing his reflexes with nothing more than a battered tennis ball and an unwavering determination to imitate his hero, Kumar Sangakkara.
