Suraj Seshadri

Suraj Seshadri, born on the first day of the new millennium, has steadily carved out a niche for himself in the world of cricket as a dynamic allrounder. Growing up in the bustling city of Bangalore, his days were initially filled with tennis ball cricket matches played against the walls of his neighbourhood homes. Encouraged by his family's unwavering support, he joined a local cricket club at the age of ten, under the tutelage of former district player Ramesh Prabhu, who quickly spotted Suraj's natural flair for the game.

Suraj's cricketing ascension was marked by his debut in the domestic circuit at the tender age of 18, playing for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy. His versatility with both bat and ball soon became his hallmark; as a right-handed batsman, he had an innate ability to navigate sticky situations, coupled with versatile bowling skills that could adapt to all formats. His prowess was strikingly evident during the 2019-2020 Ranji season, where his all-round performances were pivotal in Karnataka's victorious campaign.

International recognition was just around the corner. Suraj made his national team debut in an ODI against Australia in 2022, and it wasn't long before he became a staple in the Indian squad. One of his most notable performances came during a tense match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup same year, where his match-winning knock of 87 not out and crucial late-over wickets turned the game into a memorable triumph for India. This match highlighted Suraj as not just a player of immense potential, but an emerging hero in intense rivalry games.

His ability to remain calm under pressure and consistently deliver with both bat and ball has resulted in numerous accolades. By 2023, Suraj had notched up over 1,000 runs and taken 50 wickets in ODIs, reflecting his integral role in the team's balance and strategy.
