Tinu Kundu

Cricketers often carve niches for themselves through years of relentless pursuit, and Tinu Kundu is no exception. Born on 15th March 1995, Kundu's journey began in the sleepy rural lanes where he first picked up a cricket ball at the age of seven. From early days in Haryana, the young lad displayed an uncanny knack for turning the ball even on the most unyielding pitches, a talent that would carry him to cricketing heights.

Tinu's rise through the ranks of domestic cricket was swift. By the time he reached his late teens, his slow left-arm orthodox style had become a talking point among scouts and selectors. Despite his left-arm bowling focus, Kundu honed his right-hand batting to offer valuable lower-order contributions.

The year 2015 marked a critical juncture when Kundu made his first-class debut for Haryana. The debut was nothing short of a dream, as he claimed a five-wicket haul, announcing his arrival on the stage. Over the following seasons, Tinu's prowess spun webs around domestic batsmen, earning him a reputation as a reliable match-winner for his side. Among his notable achievements, a standout moment came during the Ranji Trophy season of 2018-19, where Kundu spearheaded Haryana's bowling attack into the semi-finals, taking a total of 47 wickets in the tournament. His performance against Karnataka in the quarter-finals, where he dismissed key batsmen in a tense fourth-day finish, remains a memorable highlight.

Tinu's rivalry with fellow youngster and peer, Ayaan Sharma, often drew massive crowds, as their on-field battles led to intense encounters that were talked about long after stumps were drawn. Kundu’s poise under pressure and capability to deliver crucial breakthroughs added an intangible depth to his persona.
