Vaibhav Wategaonkar, born on 30th August 1982, grew up with cricket in his veins, spending countless childhood days with a bat in his hands on the dusty fields of Pune. His penchant for the game was evident from a tender age, as he rapidly progressed through the ranks of local cricket courtesy of his natural left-handed elegance and keen eye for the ball. His early performances in school tournaments caught the attention of district coaches, propelling him into the higher echelons of youth cricket in Maharashtra.
