Vijay Kumar Desai

Vijay Kumar Desai was born on 30th November 1984, in the coastal town of Vasco da Gama, Goa. From a young age, cricket wasn't just a game for Vijay; it was a passion that blossomed almost as soon as he could hold a bat. Encouraged by his father, a local cricket enthusiast, Vijay took his first steps into the world of cricket on the dusty fields of Goa, often seen with a makeshift bat carved by his grandfather.

Vijay’s natural flair was evident early on, as he emerged as a promising allrounder in age-group cricket, seamlessly blending his right-handed batting prowess with strategic right-arm fast-medium deliveries. His all-round abilities caught the eyes of regional selectors, paving his way to the state team by his late teens. His relentless drive and knack for rising to the occasion earned him a debut in the domestic circuit in 2004.

Throughout his career, Vijay built a formidable stature, thrilling crowds with his hard-hitting batting and uncanny ability to swing the ball at will.
