Balapuwaduge Kusal Gimhan Mendis, popularly known as Kusal Mendis, is a professional cricketer from Sri Lanka. Born on February 2, 1995 in Colombo, Mendis is celebrated for his compact technique, aggressive batting style, and unwavering determination. Considered one of the most promising young batsmen in the world, he has made a name for himself in both Test and ODI formats.
Mendis quickly rose through the ranks of the age-group system, showcasing his exceptional talent and earning recognition as a formidable batsman. Despite having played only 16 first-class innings, he made his Test debut at the tender age of 20. It didn’t take long for him to leave a lasting impact, as he scored a monumental maiden Test century of 176 runs against Australia at Pallekele.
