Kyle James Coetzer is a Scottish cricket player who made history in 2015 by scoring Scotland’s first ever hundred in the World Cup. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Coetzer’s name may sound South African, but his talent and passion for the game are deeply rooted in his Scottish heritage.

Coetzer’s cricket journey began at a young age when he represented Scotland in the European Under-15 Championship in 1999. From there, he steadily made his mark in the Scottish cricket scene and established himself as a crucial member of the national team’s top order. His dedication and skill eventually earned him the captaincy of the Scottish cricket team in 2013.

Throughout his career, Coetzer has enjoyed success both at the domestic and international levels. He had a breakout season in 2007 with Durham, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s success. Coetzer’s maiden first-class hundred, an impressive 153 not out, showcased his immense talent and set the stage for his future achievements.
