This breakthrough performance was followed by an outstanding season, in which he claimed 49 wickets at a commendable average of 23.59.

Despite his impressive domestic performances, there were concerns regarding Tsotsobe’s fitness, stamina, and lack of pace. While he was not as quick as some of his predecessors, such as the legendary Brett Schultz, Tsotsobe’s skill with swing bowling made him an asset to any team.

He made his international debut in an ODI match and immediately left a mark, taking 4 for 50. This exceptional performance earned him a central contract and established him as a key player for the national team.

In 2010, Tsotsobe was selected for South Africa’s tour of the Caribbean as a left-arm option. His consistent performances in the limited-overs format earned him a Test debut against the West Indies in Port of Spain in June 2010. Tsotsobe’s ability to swing the ball and maintain control over line and length made him a valuable asset to the team.

Throughout his career, Tsotsobe faced challenges with injuries that plagued his progress. However, whenever he regained full fitness, he consistently showcased his ability to trouble even the most accomplished batsmen. Tsotsobe possessed a unique talent to exploit swing-friendly conditions and generate significant movement off the pitch, making him a thorn in the side of many opponents.

Tsotsobe’s international career spanned from 2009 to 2014, during which he represented South Africa in both ODIs and Test matches. He amassed a respectable record, taking 92 ODI wickets at an average of 24.83, and 24 Test wickets at an average of 40.54. While his Test career was relatively short-lived, his contributions in the ODI format were instrumental in establishing South Africa as a dominant force in international cricket.
