Mominul Haque, hailing from the picturesque coastal town of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh, is a name that has become synonymous with excellence in cricket. Born on 29th September 1991, Mominul had a humble beginning, but his passion for the sport led him to great heights.

Growing up in Cox’s Bazar, a place known for its serene beaches and tourist attractions, Mominul’s love for cricket was evident from an early age. He was enrolled in the Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Protishtan (BKSP), the largest sports institute in the country, where he would receive the necessary training and guidance to hone his skills.

Mominul’s talent and dedication quickly caught the attention of his coaches and selectors. As a left-handed batsman, he displayed great potential and was soon making his mark in age-group cricket. His hard work paid off when he made his first-class debut for Dhaka Division in the 2008-09 season, impressing with his solid technique and ability to build innings.

In 2010, Mominul was selected to represent Bangladesh in the Under-19 World Cup, showcasing his talent on the international stage. The following year, he was recognized by the National Cricket Academy as their 2011 graduate, a testament to his rapid progress and potential.

Continuing his ascent in domestic cricket, Mominul established himself as a dependable middle-order batsman. His consistent performances earned him a place in the Bangladesh A team’s tour to the West Indies in 2011, where he made an impressive statement by scoring a magnificent 150 in the opening match of the tour.

Despite the growing calls for his inclusion in the national team, the selectors held back, wanting to give Mominul more time to develop his skills and gain experience. However, his talent could not be ignored for long, and he received his well-deserved call-up to the Bangladesh national team in November 2012.

Mominul’s maiden call-up came as a replacement for the injured Shakib Al Hasan for the first two ODIs against West Indies. This opportunity marked the beginning of a new chapter in his cricketing journey. With his impeccable technique and determination, he made an immediate impact, showcasing his ability to adapt to the demands of international cricket.

Since then, Mominul has become a vital cog in the Bangladesh team’s batting lineup. His elegant stroke play, unwavering focus, and ability to score runs consistently have made him a fan favorite. As of now, Mominul Haque boasts an impressive record, scoring over 3,500 runs in Test cricket at an average of over 40.
