Quazi Nurul Hasan is a talented cricket player hailing from Bangladesh. Born on 30 November 1994, he made his debut in the first-class cricket in 2011 and has since then established himself as a prominent wicketkeeper-batsman in his national team.
Nurul’s cricket journey started in the domestic circuit, where he had to patiently wait for his turn to play international cricket. For nearly three decades, the wicketkeeping position in Bangladesh was dominated by Khaled Mashud and later taken over by Mushfiqur Rahim. However, his wait finally came to an end when he made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Zimbabwe in January 2016. The selectors decided to experiment with new talent before the Asia Cup and the World T20, and Nurul got the chance to showcase his skills on the international stage.
Similarly, Nurul’s One Day International (ODI) debut came as a result of an unfortunate injury to Mushfiqur Rahim during the tour of New Zealand in December. He became only the fifth wicketkeeper to make an ODI debut for Bangladesh since Mushfiqur’s career began back in 2006.
Before making it to the national team, Nurul spent three years representing the Under-19 side, participating in two World Cups in 2010 and 2012. However, it was in the 2013-14 season that he truly made a breakthrough in domestic cricket. He amassed an impressive total of 489 runs in the National Cricket League, boasting an outstanding average of 81.50 along with two centuries. This stellar performance led to his inclusion in the Bangladesh A side and established his reputation as a solid performer in local cricket.
Following his T20I debut, Nurul continued to excel in domestic cricket, particularly in the Dhaka Premier League, where he surpassed the 500-run mark and even recorded a century. These remarkable performances made him the second-best wicketkeeper in Bangladesh in 2016, further cementing his place among the top players in the country.
Nurul has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the Bangladesh cricket team, not only as a wicketkeeper but also as a reliable batsman. He has the ability to contribute significant runs to the team when the need arises. Additionally, his agility behind the stumps and strong wicketkeeping skills make him an invaluable presence on the field.
As he continues to build his career, it is clear that Nurul Hasan has the potential to become one of the leading cricketers in Bangladesh. With his dedication, talent, and determination, there is no doubt that he will make significant contributions to his team and leave a lasting impact on the sport.
