Pankaj’s cricketing journey began when he made his first-class debut in August 2003. In 2007, Pankaj was selected to represent India A in their twin tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya. This performance earned him a well-deserved call-up to represent India in the home series against South Africa A.

Lady luck smiled upon Pankaj once again, granting him the opportunity to join India’s Test squad to tour Australia in 2007. After a brief stint with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, Pankaj transferred to the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the second season.
