Paras Dogra Bio

Paras Dogra, a prolific cricket player from India, has garnered a reputation as one of the heaviest run-scorers in Indian domestic cricket. Born on October 9, 1984, Dogra hails from Himachal Pradesh and has made significant contributions to the sport through his consistent performances.

Throughout the mid-2000s and up until 2016, Dogra’s exceptional batting skills placed him prominently in the lower tier of the prestigious Ranji Trophy. However, his incredible run-making prowess often went unnoticed by the masses as he played away from the spotlight. In the 2012-2013 season, Dogra showcased his true potential by scoring an astonishing five centuries in eight matches for Himachal Pradesh, including three consecutive centuries.

Impressed by his remarkable form, the selectors included Dogra in the India A squad for a series of unofficial Tests against the touring West Indies A side in 2013. Although he played only one match, his talent shone through as he contributed 7 runs before being dismissed by Nikita Miller.

Undeterred by limited international exposure, Dogra continued to amass runs in the domestic circuit. The 2015-2016 season witnessed his immense success, during which he notched up his sixth and seventh double-centuries of his career against Tripura and Services, respectively. Ending the season with an enviable average of 78.11, he amassed a total of 703 runs.

In addition to his domestic feats, Dogra has also made sporadic appearances in the Indian Premier League (IPL). During the IPL 2010 season, he represented the Rajasthan Royals in nine matches and achieved a highest score of 41. Subsequently, he made three appearances for the Kings XI Punjab in 2012 and one for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013. The Gujarat Lions acquired him at his base price of INR 10 lakh at the IPL 2016 auction.

Paras Dogra’s exceptional skills and dedication to the sport have allowed him to leave a lasting impact on the cricketing fraternity. Despite the lack of consistent opportunities at the international level, he has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to amass runs in the domestic circuit, cementing his status as one of India’s premier cricketers.

Off the field, Dogra maintains a low-profile life. While information regarding his personal interests and hobbies remains relatively undisclosed, his commitment to cricket shines brightly through his performances. A relentless run-scorer and an asset to any team he represents, Paras Dogra’s journey in cricket continues to inspire aspiring players and showcases the immense talent India possesses in the sport.
