Pradeep Sangwan bio

Pradeep Jaibeer Sangwan is an Indian cricket player known for his left-arm medium-pace bowling skills. Born on November 5, 1990, in Najafgarh, Delhi, Sangwan made his mark in the cricketing world at a young age, following in the footsteps of his idol, Wasim Akram.

Sangwan began his professional career in the 2007-08 season, making his first-class debut for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy. In that season, he showcased his exceptional talents by taking 33 wickets at an impressive average of 19.24. His remarkable performances earned him a place in the Indian squad for the Under-19 World Cup held in Malaysia.

During the Under-19 World Cup, Sangwan emerged as a key player, displaying his mastery with the ball. He took eight wickets in the tournament, including a spell of 5 for 44, which played a crucial role in India’s success. His outstanding contributions helped India rout South Africa during the group stages of the competition.

At the tender age of 18, Sangwan’s skills didn’t go unnoticed, and he secured a contract with the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He played 28 matches for the Daredevils in the first three seasons before making a move to the Kolkata Knight Riders.

However, Sangwan’s form in first-class cricket began to decline, and he struggled to maintain consistency with the ball. His average with the ball rose above 30, reaching as high as 41 in the 2009-10 season. Unfortunately, Sangwan faced a major setback in his career when he tested positive for stanozolol, a prohibited steroid, during the 2013 IPL season. As a consequence, he was handed a ban of 18 months, putting a halt to his cricketing journey temporarily.

After serving his ban, Sangwan made a strong comeback towards the end of the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy season. He resumed playing regularly and achieved remarkable success. In the 2015-16 season, Sangwan picked up a total of 32 wickets for Delhi, showcasing his immense talent and proving his worth once again. His outstanding performances didn’t go unnoticed, and he was subsequently bought by the Gujarat Lions for INR 20 lakhs in the 2016 IPL auction.

As Sangwan continues to pursue his cricketing career, he seeks to once again establish himself as a formidable bowler in the world of Indian cricket. With his natural talent and determination, Sangwan aspires to contribute to the success of his team and leave a lasting impact on the game he loves.

Pradeep Sangwan is a talented left-arm medium-pace bowler from India who has faced both triumph and adversity in his cricketing journey. With continued perseverance and dedication, he hopes to achieve greater heights and make a significant contribution to the sport.
