Ranjan Das bio

Bikash Ranjan Das, also known as Mahmudur Rahman, is a former professional cricketer from Bangladesh. Despite his short-lived international career, Das left an indelible mark on cricket enthusiasts with his fiery left-arm fast bowling.

Born in Kishoreganj, Bangladesh, Das made his debut in the inaugural Test match against India at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in November 2000. Although he played in only one Test, he showcased his potential by taking the wicket of the experienced Sadagopan Ramesh. Known for his decent pace and ability to move the ball, Das displayed promising skills that had fans hoping for a successful career in international cricket.

However, injuries and inconsistent performances in domestic cricket prevented Das from realizing his full potential. Despite his talent, he struggled to maintain consistency and could not establish himself as a regular member of the national side. Nevertheless, his brief time on the international stage did not deter him from pursuing his passion for cricket.

Undeterred by setbacks, Das continued to play first-class and club cricket until the 2004-2005 season. During this period, the cricketer made a decision to reinvent his game, transforming himself into a left-arm spinner in a bid to adapt to the changing times. Unfortunately, this transition was short-lived, and Das eventually faded into the background of professional cricket.

Although his professional cricket career may have ended prematurely, Das has not completely left the sport behind. Even after retirement, he occasionally engages in weekend cricket games with other retired cricketers, showcasing his continued love for the game.

While Das may be considered a one-Test wonder, his impact on the cricketing world remains significant. His potential as a fast bowler and his ability to generate movement at decent pace were admired by fans and experts alike. Though his career took a different trajectory than anticipated, Das will forever be remembered as a talented cricketer with great promise.
