Richard Peter Snell is a former South African cricketer who played as a fast bowler. Born on October 17, 1960, in Johannesburg, Snell had a successful international career representing South Africa. Known for his accurate pace and swing, he made his Test debut against Australia in 1992 and played a total of 43 Test matches, taking 180 wickets at an average of 25.92. In One Day Internationals, Snell played 52 matches and picked up 64 wickets. He was also a handy lower-order batsman. After retiring from international cricket, Snell has worked as a coach and commentator.
