Saurabh Tiwary bio

Saurabh Sunil Tiwary, an accomplished left-handed batsman from India, began his cricketing journey at the tender age of 11. Born on December 30, 1989, Tiwary hails from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. He quickly rose through the ranks, representing his state at the Under-14 level before making his much-anticipated first-class debut in the prestigious Ranji Trophy during the 2006-2007 season.

Tiwary’s immense talent did not go unnoticed, and he was rightfully selected to represent India in the Under-19 World Cup held in Malaysia in 2008. He played a vital role in India’s success in the tournament, showcasing his incredible ability with the bat. This performance brought him into the spotlight, where his potential as a future cricket star became evident.

It was his awe-inspiring performances in the Ranji Trophy for Jharkhand and in the mighty Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians, however, that catapulted Tiwary to new heights. In the IPL, he demonstrated his power-hitting prowess by smashing a remarkable 18 sixes, thereby emerging as the top six-hitter for the Mumbai Indians. Similarly, in the Ranji Trophy, his consistent performances, including three centuries, established him as a force to be reckoned with in domestic cricket.

As a reward for his consistent displays of skill and dedication, Tiwary earned a call-up to the Indian national team for the prestigious Asia Cup in June 2010. However, he had to wait until October of that year to make his One Day International (ODI) debut, which occurred during the home series against Australia. This debut marked the beginning of his international career, where he aimed to cement his place in the competitive Indian cricketing landscape.

In recognition of his abilities, Tiwary was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for an impressive sum of USD 1.6 million ahead of the 2011 IPL season. However, despite his initial promise, his form significantly dipped during his tenure with the franchise. He managed only one fifty in 47 matches, and unfortunate injury woes ultimately ruled him out of the 2014 IPL season.

Nevertheless, Tiwary’s perseverance and undying passion for the game led him to don the jersey of the Delhi Daredevils in the 2015 IPL season. Subsequently, he was acquired by the Rising Pune Supergiants for the 2016 edition, which presented him with another opportunity to demonstrate his prowess at the highest level of domestic T20 cricket.

While Tiwary faced challenges in his IPL career, his performances in the Ranji Trophy remained stellar. During the 2015-2016 season, he emerged as one of the top-15 run-getters of the season, amassing a double-century and five fifties. These consistent displays of skill showcased his determination to excel and contributed to his growth as a cricketer.

Saurabh Tiwary’s incredible journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring cricketers, symbolizing dedication, resilience, and an unyielding spirit. As his career continues, fans and experts eagerly await his future exploits, hoping to witness him scale new heights in Indian cricket.
