Shubman Gill, a right-hand top-order batsman hailing from Punjab, has quickly gained recognition in the cricketing world for his exceptional skills and ability to score big runs. Gill amassed a staggering 351 runs in just four innings, earning him the coveted title of Man of the Series. His exceptional contributions helped India sweep the series convincingly. In the ensuing reciprocal tour to England, he once again emerged as the top scorer, accumulating a remarkable total of 278 runs in four innings, proving his adaptability to unfamiliar conditions.

While still in New Zealand for the Under-19 World Cup, Gill received a life-changing opportunity when he was picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2018 IPL auction for a whopping INR 1.8 crore (approximately USD 281,000). This remarkable achievement showcased the recognition of his talent even at the highest level of domestic T20 cricket.
